TESL Sask Bursary Student Bursary

Eligibility: To be eligibile for this award, an applicant must:
  • Be a recent immigrant or refugee (in Canada for up to 5 years)
  • Be a Saskatchewan resident
  • Be enrolled or about to enroll in a provincially recognized postsecondary institution or enrolled to take the Prior Learning Assessment exams which will further their education or professional development
  • Demonstrate financial need

In addition to an application form, the following are required:
  • A letter that includes an explanation of financial need and of how this bursary will help meet your short-term and long-term educational/ career goals. Please include information regarding where and how the bursary will be spent (for example: tuition, books accommodations, transportation, fees for professional exams, equipment, childcare, etc.)
  • A letter from an ESL Instructor or Counselor verifying your career goals
  • A list of names and contact information of 2 other references. The reference must be community leaders (for example: educators, clergy, or community leaders)
  • A letter from the Tegistrar's office of the educational institution confirming your enrollment. (Please provide this as soon as possible. Please note that the letter does not need to accompany your initial application)
