Dr. F. V. MacHardy Graduate Fellowship in Grasslands Management

Eligibility: To recognize research excellence of students pursuing a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree or Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.), specializing in grasslands research, in the College of Agriculture and Bioresources. This award is renewable.

Open to full-time students entering or continuing studies in either a Masters of Science degree (M.Sc) program or Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.) program whose supervisor is a faculty member in the College of Agriculture, as determined by the Award Committee.

Preference will be given to students, who, in consultation with a Faculty advisor, have selected their research project in the area of grassland studies. In the event that no suitable candidate in the area of grassland research is found, the fellowship may be granted to a candidate in a clearly related area of study within the College of Agriculture and Bioresources, as determined by the Award Committee (as designated by the Dean of the College of Agriculture and Bioresources).

If no suitable candidate is found in any given year, the scholarship may not be awarded, as determined by the Award Committee.

The award may be renewed. Renewal of the scholarship will be based on an assessment by the faculty member familiar with the recipient's work (typically will be the supervisor). The Award Committee will make the final renewal decision. M.Sc. may renew the award once, Ph.D. may renew the award up to two times.

Minimum cumulative average of 80% in the last two years of completed study, as determined by the Award Committee, specializing in grasslands research. Supervisor must be in the Faculty of Agriculture and Bioresources.
