Dr. O. Kenneth Johannson Scholarship

Number offered: Up to 5 awards per annum
Eligibility: The scholarships will be awarded to students in the Chemistry graduate program who perform exceptionally as Teaching Assistants while making good progress in research and maintaining a scholarship calibre academic record. To be considered for this award a student must have performed TA duties in the past year. The awardees will be selected based on their recent research performance (25% weight), GPA (25% weight) and TA performance (50% weight).
Donor: Memorial donations from friends, colleagues, Dow Corning Foundation and Corning Glass Works Foundation have been received in memory of Dr. Johannson, a long-time pioneer scientist with Dow Corning Corporation.
Apply: A committee within the Department of Chemistry will choose recipients from nominations by the lab managers or course instructors directly supervising the teaching activity.
