University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship

Description:
|
The College of Graduate Studies and Research (CGSR) offers University Graduate Scholarships through the devolved or non-devolved system. Graduate Programs belonging to the non-devolved system participate in a University wide competition. Graduate Programs belonging to the devolved system have been allocated scholarship funds from CGSR for administration by the department. Please contact the graduate chair in your department of studies to find out whether your department is devolved or non-devolved.

Value:

Ph.D.: $18,000 (may be tenable for up to 36 months); Master's Thesis: $15,000 (may be tenable for up to 24 months).

Eligibility:
|
All University Graduate Scholarships (UGS) ,whether they belong to the devolved or non-devolved system, must be full-time, fully-qualified students who are either continuing their program or are in the process of being admitted into a graduate degree program. Students must have a minimum of 80% average as a continuing student. Prospective students must have a minimum 80% entrance average.
Only students entering their first, second or third year of graduate study (Master's or Doctoral) are eligible to apply for the University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship.

Application Procedure:

Non-Devolved Departments:
Students apply to the department at least 2 weeks prior to the deadline date (usually the last week in February each year) with:
A completed General Awards Application form (to obtain the form, click on the link provided below and choose Scholarships and Awards),
Official transcripts (if you attended a university other than the U of S),
Two letters of Recommendation.
Devolved Departments:
Students should contact the Graduate Chair in the department for the application process.
Renewal: Students who are successful in obtaining a University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship may receive renewal for subsequent year(s) on the following conditions:
The student is still eligible according to the conditions of the scholarship,
The student's year in study meets the conditions of the scholarship,
The Grad Awards office receives a satisfactory progress report - GSR 610 (to obtain the form please click on the link provided below),
The Grad Awards office receives a copy of the student's Advisory Committee minutes from the department of studies.
